For collectors

Buy it from whoever made it

Every shop on Phyrne belongs to one working artist or maker, vetted by a person before they were allowed to open it. You pay them, through us, with a card and an email address. There is nothing to join.

What you are buying

One shop, one person, one pair of hands

There is no drop-shipping here, no reseller, no factory with an artist's name printed on the box. A Phyrne storefront belongs to the person who made what is on it, and that person was read by a human being before the shop existed and checked by Stripe before it could sell a thing.

Which is why the parcel usually has handwriting on it, and why a question about it reaches the person who made it: reply to your receipt, a person here passes it on, and the maker has your address from the order.

How to buy

Four minutes, no account

  1. Find the shop

From the maker's own link, their card or a show — or from the shop, where every open storefront can be browsed and searched. Nobody has paid to be in front of you.
  2. Read their terms

Shipping, handling time and returns are written by the maker and stated on the page. A made-to-order piece says so before you pay.
  3. Pay with a card

Card, wallet or bank debit, through Stripe. An email address for the receipt is all we ask for. No account, no password, no app.
  4. They post it, and tell you

You get the dispatch note with the carrier and the tracking number. A digital piece arrives immediately, by a link.

The comfortable bits

What is true of every Phyrne shop

The maker is verified

Checked by Stripe before the shop could take a payment, read by a person, and signed up to a code of conduct that ends memberships.

Payment through Stripe

Phyrne brokers the payment and pays the maker. Your card details are Stripe's business and never the maker's.

Their terms, stated

Refunds, returns and shipping are the seller's own, written on the page you bought from and honoured by them.

A person to write to

Reply to your receipt, or write to hello@phyrne.app, and we pass it to the maker, who has your address from the order. If they go quiet, we chase it, and refund it ourselves if we have to.

Editions with real numbers

A run of forty says how many are left. An original is marked sold the moment it is.

No advertising, ever

We do not track you around the internet, sell your address, or let anybody pay to be in front of you.

If something goes wrong

The seller's terms first, and us behind them

Refunds, returns and replacements are the maker's own stated terms, and almost everything is settled by one note: reply to your receipt and we pass it to the maker, with your address from the order. Makers here are one person who cares a great deal about the parcel.

If a member goes quiet on you, write to us again at hello@phyrne.app. We chase, and where a member has abandoned an order we refund it ourselves and take it up with them. Standing here is a real thing that people lose.

Questions about collectors

Do I need an account?
No. An email address for the receipt and a card. There is no app, no password and nothing to join — the club is the members' half of Phyrne, not the buyers'.
How do I find something without the maker's link?
Browse the shop — the collections Phyrne has put together, the newest work, and every open storefront by the kind of work it sells — or search it for a word you have in mind. Either way you buy from the maker's own storefront.
Who am I paying?
The maker, through Phyrne. We broker the payment through Stripe, take 8%, and send the rest to the maker's own account.
What if it arrives broken, or never arrives?
Reply to your receipt, or write to hello@phyrne.app with the order number, and we pass it to the maker — their terms are on the page you bought from. If nothing comes of it in a few days, tell us again and we will chase it, and refund it ourselves if the member has abandoned it.
Who sets shipping and returns?
The seller does, and their terms are stated on the storefront before you pay. Phyrne does not impose a policy over the top of them.
Can I commission something?
Some makers sell pieces made to order: the listing says so, and each one is made when you buy it, on the terms on the page. For anything that is not listed, write to hello@phyrne.app, say which storefront, and we pass it to the maker.
